So with that new form factor and approach, no wires is a very good thing. The only "computer" will be the Mac Pro, or maybe iMac Pro series for folks who need serious horsepower. So no more of what we call MacBooks (Air or Pro), but devices like the current iPads with keyboards and mouse accessories. People move more and more away from classic "computers" and into mobile devices that they take with them. Have more devices? Get a hub. For peripherals, one connector, maybe USB-C, maybe something else. Fits in with their move to Arm processors that have been rumored recently. Running a hybrid of what is now iOS and what is now macOS, but basically seamless among all of the various devices. Mounts and dismounts of drives handled automatically. Wirelessly connects to local network, local peripherals, keyboard, mouse, power. Wireless monitor? Who knows?Come in the office, plop the iPad into the stand, it comes on. You might not even need to take your phone out of your pocket, just walk into your office and everything connects-keyboard, mouse, monitor, peripherals. Could be made automatic for the smaller form factors, too. The small screen could feed a large monitor kind of like how AirPlay works now. No need to take anything with you, nothing to disconnect.BTW, all the same could be done with an iPhone as well, if Apple chooses to do that. No wires.Need to move? Grab the iPad and go. Stop moving? Mount the drives it knows about automatically. And Apple is, after all, the company of the dreamers, the misfits, etc. Add the input peripherals and it's almost there now.Now I may not work that way, but that's how a lot of folks would LOVE to work.
